Quite sometime since I gave some input :) I kinda knew this is the way its gonna go - enthu during the 1st few days, then sssshhh ! :))
Its not that there is nothing happening around. Just that nothing happening that I can write here - for everyone to read ! :)
Anyways, in intersting news, I just signed up for 1GB GMail !! As a "valued" www.blogger.com customer, I was offered a chance to test GMail. hahaha. Naaa, I am sure they are giving it off right left and center to anyone who signs up for a blogger account. I dont think there a account signup on GMail's website. But thru blogger.com, you can get to it. In case you din know, Blogger is owned by Google. So if interested, try it ! There are some cool stuff there - like keyboard shortcuts, msg archives, conversations, etc.
Until later,

Looks to me like people are still having problem understanding what this is all about ! Well, thats ok, the 1st time I heard of this, even I was skeptical as to what is the whole idea behind a blog. And I have to admit I still dont understand it fully. :) So give it some time Najeeb, and things might fall in place. If not, you can still come here and drop some nice comments on what I say( read - what crap I say ;) ). I would be more than glad to see them.
The reason why I chose to have a blog is coz I wanted some space on web, where I can express myself...and get people to share their opinion on it. I dont want it to be like a daily update of whats going on in my life - trust me, its the most boring thing, something that even I wouldnt want to read :).

Everyone has a "threshold" or a limiting point - stressed beyond which, one's mind simply stops "fighting". Even small challenges seem daunting and one gets depressed and looses control easily enough. Some have a very high threshold and thats why they are able to cope better with stress than others. But its nooot something that one is born with. There are ways of improving onself. Most common and most practised way is meditation. I personally feel that the best way to improve one's threshold level is by doing what one feels most happy doing. Like for example, I like to play - most games - and playing is what gives me lots of joy and it definitely improves my state of mind !
I am a bit upset today, coz my parent's visa application was not accepted. I need to boost the state of mind that I am in right now, so what I am going to do is go and play TT ! Now isnt that a nice excuse not to study ;) :)))

Finally the weather got better here yesterday ! Although it was only something around 50s, (12C), it was still a welcome change from the chilly weather of the last few months - which I have come to hate a lot of late ! Or lets put it the other way: because I was not enjoying the bad cold weather, I appreciated the good warm sun we had - even though it was still 12C! Its all relative - like I was telling a frnd yesterday :).
I had read somewhere, that only when one goes through bad times, is he able to appreciate good times. Only when one suffers defeat, is he properly able to appreciate the success in his life. But what if they dont come at all...isnt that a scary feeling. Well, I guess how one approaches this fact is what differentiates a winner from a loser. The winner believes that one day it WILL come, he will succeed;while the loser keeps whining that he has not seen success and probably will NEVER see it !

Alright - 1st things 1st - UConn - the univ with double NCAA title is the univ where my brother goes. :). (though he is not remotely related to basketball whatsoever lol ).
For those of you who are not aware of it - its the Cherry Blossom season here in DC. The Cherry Blossom Festival is going on and (surprisingly!!) people from different parts of the country come here just to see these flowers ! Weird. Well...I havent visited the Tidal Basin yet, and that could be the reason for my sarcasm. But still, I am simply not able to understand why would people flock over from all over just to see flowers !! I might be going this weekend. Will know more then. :)and share my experience as well. Until then, if interested you can have more info about it here - http://www.nps.gov/nacc/cherry/index.htm.

Oh no !!!
This is getting real confusing, isnt it :). Sangram - Sumit is my brother, not GW Sumeet. And Chavs is my frnd from college - Harsha. And in case u were thinking Priya is Priya Moorjani, no shes not !! Shes Priya V - frnd from college. I think it would be more clear, if u guys could put ur univ name or someother kind of identification that could mark you out as unique.
In other news - UConn won the women's basketball NCAA title yesterday. Would not have been anything special or worth mentioning, but for the fact that they did it for the 3rd time in a row; and not just that, this year - bot the men's and women's NCAA Championship went to UConn - 1st time in NCAA history !! Go UConn ! :)
Bon Voyage to Rejin - hes leaving for Australia today. Good Luck man. Get a land line soon - I am waiting to get back on ur nerves ;)

Finally went to the gym yesterday - after almost a year's hiatus :). Had been thinking of starting for quite sometime, but then like I always tell ppl - Procastination is my best frnd :))))). What actually did push me to it was the Paintball game on saturday. It was so much fun and after coming back I was feeling very fresh and good. It was then that I decided that I needed some sort of fun activity everyday. It brings a change from the monotonous life in the lab that I have got used to of late ...:(. Played squash - all alone. Pulled a few muscles here and there, but was good over all :). Will have a partner from next week hopefully. Currently hes working on this thesis defense. But next week on, he will have to defend himself from the power that I will unleash on him :))))))) !
until then

Every weekend I try to do something productive, but noooooooo ! that's not going to happen . :) So was the case with this one as well. But I wouldn't say that it was a weekend wasted either. I had been to a Paintball game in Maryland on Saturday. It was wonderful. Thanks to the ACM/IEEE we got good discounts. Although we played only 6 games, my tendons are still complaining as if I just got back after climbing Mt. Everest ! But ya, the game does give an adrelanine rush. I would definitely like to go to a game again. :)
